Breast Reduction Surgery San Francisco

Breasts that are so big that they cause increased shoulder, neck and back pain can be burdensome. In addition, overly large breasts can make participation in exercise and sports difficult, leading to other health problems, from bad posture to breathing problems.

A breast reduction reduces the size of a woman’s breasts. Following surgery, most women that have the procedure report a life changing experience, relief from pain, and increased self confidence.

About Breast Reduction

Breast reduction techniques are constantly evolving, and have been refined to improve safety and results for patients. During the surgery, excess breast tissue, fat, and skin are eliminated from the beast, and the nipple is relocated. Usually, the procedure is performed on fully developed breasts, but younger woman may also benefit from the procedure.

Those that are overweight will be encouraged to first implement a traditional weight lose program, which will improve the long term results of the surgery.  Women that plan to have more children should consider postponing the surgery until after they think they may be done having children.

Breast reduction surgery can be performed on an inpatient or an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. It takes about three hours. Depending on your situation,  you may be eligible for coverage under your insurance plan.
