Photofacial Rejuvenation & Spider Vein Removal Treatment

Sclerotherapy for Spider Veins

Telangiectasias (spider veins) - are small, thin veins that lie close to the surface of the skin. Although these super-fine veins are connected with the larger venous system, they are not an essential part of it. In fact, most people who have spider veins wish they were not a part of their venous system at all!  Telangiectasias can be removed via a process called sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is the injection of a sclerosing (hardening) solution into a spider vein to produce inflammation and scarring. The inflammation and scarring renders the vein nonfunctional and it gradually closes and shrinks.

A typical sclerotherapy spider vein treatment session is relatively quick, lasting only about 15 to 45 minutes. You will be asked to lie down on the examination table and the skin over your spider veins will be cleaned with an antiseptic solution. Using one hand to stretch the skin taut, your doctor or nurse will begin injecting the sclerosing agent into the affected veins. Bright, indirect light and magnification help ensure that the process is completed with maximum precision.

Approximately one injection is administered for every inch of spider vein - anywhere from five to 40 injections per treatment session. A cotton ball and compression tape is applied to each area of the leg as it is finished. Two or more sessions may be needed. Compression stockings are required for optimum results.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) for Broken Capillaries

Photorejuvenation (also photofacial rejuvenation) is a cosmetic treatment designed to produce younger and healthier looking skin. As most of us age, we begin to see visible signs of sun damage, time, and lifestyle choices appearing in our complexion. This aged look may include freckles, rosacea (a chronic inflammatory disorder of the facial skin), wrinkles, broken capillaries, dark spots, blotchy skin color, redness of the face and neck, enlarged pore size and uneven pigmentation. Photorejuvenation is the only procedure that can treat vascular redness, the appearance of rosacea, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, skin texture, and collagen structure all at once. With the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) technology, dramatic improvements can now be accomplished with little or no "downtime" and with very minimal discomfort.

Auriderm® for Dark Circles, Under Eyes Treatment

Auriderm® illume eye crème with Vitamin K Oxide can help reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.

Fragile capillaries that leak blood close to the skin’s surface cause dark circles under the eyes. The pool of blood oxidizes and turns a reddish-blue color, similar to a bruise. The skin under the eyes is very thin and often almost transparent and the reddish-blue tint is what you see as dark circles or bags under the eyes. This can make you feel self-conscious.

- Vitamin K Oxide help reduce or eliminate discoloration from hemosiderin
- Emollient vehicle helps moisturize and fill in this thin skin area
- Ingredients also help tighten skin to reduce the appearance of shadows
- Strengthens capillaries to reduce hemosiderin deposits
- Contains light-reflecting minerals to reduce the transparency of the skin and dark pigment

Auriderm illume eye crème with Vitamin K Oxide helps to clear hemosiderin, making it particularly effective for those where this is the cause of their dark circles. Auriderm illume eye crème helps to strengthen the capillaries and reduce or prevent further hemosiderin deposits. In addition, its specially formulated cream base contains agents to help plump the area and reflective agents to reduce the appearance of the dark circles. Illume eye crème can be used by all patients, regardless of the particular etiology of their condition.
