Beauty for Books

Founded in 2007 by Corey S. Maas, MD, Beauty for Books™ (formerly Books for BOTOX®) is a California-based 501c3 non-profit organization that generates books, reading materials, and donations for financially challenged schools and children. The program is run annually during the holiday season, and family, friends, patients, and donors are asked to bring in and deposit new books appropriate for grades K-8. In exchange, donors receive a premier cosmetic treatment courtesy of the Maas Clinic™ or Appearance Care Center™. The Annual Beauty for Books™ gala provides a forum for the local school districts (Marin City, San Francisco, and Oakland Unified) to explain their needs, for friends, beauty experts, and businesses to get together, and for generous donors to “fund the need” expressed by the schools. The 12th Annual Beauty for Books Holiday Initiative ran in December 2018. She received many generous donations, from new children’s books to gift cards for new books and teacher scholarships, enabling them to expand their degree through an online library-credentialing course. We continue pursuing our mission to improve illiteracy and educational shortages in the underfunded Bay Area public school libraries. These generous donations benefit children who are eager to learn and deserve the necessary educational resources.

Faces of Honor Program

The Maas Clinic™ supports the FACE TO FACE Faces of Honor Program, coordinated by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. As part of this program, Dr. Maas is among the doctors offering pro bono medical and surgical expertise to eligible veterans and active duty members who have sustained face, head, or neck injuries while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It’s our “thank you” to the brave men and women who have served our country.

The AAFPRS Faces of Honor Program also offers pro bono cosmetic surgical care for soldiers injured in the line of duty. We honor our servicemen and women.
