Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty San Francisco

Non-surgical rhinoplasty has become a popular alternative for enhancing the lines and shape of the nose without anesthesia or incisions. For the right patient, this procedure can produce positive, long-lasting results in just a few minutes of treatment time. The key is determining whether you are a good candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty to ensure the results are successful. At The Maas Clinic, Dr. Maas will carefully evaluate your specific concerns and desired results to decide if non-surgical rhinoplasty will give you the results you are hoping for.

What is a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

During a non-surgical rhinoplasty, we use a variety of dermal fillers, which are injected into the nose at strategic locations to add fullness and correct asymmetries. Because Dr. Maas works with a wide range of dermal filler in his practice, he is highly qualified to tailor this procedure to the unique needs of each patient. In some cases, a single formulation may be used, but other patients may require more than one type of dermal filler to get the precise results they are looking for.

Candidates for Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

This procedure tends to work best on patients with a saddle depression or slight concave in the bridge of the nose. It can also be used on patients with a weak nasal bridge, to strengthen the profile of the nose and add fullness to that middle area. This is particularly beneficial for some of our Asian patients that tend to be more prone to a weak bridge. In some cases, we can also use a non-surgical rhinoplasty to enhance the definition of the nasal tip.

Patients that have had surgical rhinoplasty may find they are left with subtle asymmetries that keep them from enjoying their results to the fullest. Dr. Maas can also offer a non-surgical rhinoplasty to some of these patients, providing correction to their original procedure without the need for another surgery.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty offers long-lasting results, but those results are still temporary. Over time, the body will reabsorb the filler solution and the results will gradually disappear. Candidates for this procedure will need to be willing to commit to a regular treatment schedule in order to maintain their positive results over the long term.

How it Works

A non-surgical rhinoplasty can be performed in Dr. Maas’s clinic without anesthesia. Injections of dermal fillers are done with a very fine needle that involves minimal discomfort for the patient. Topical numbing cream is available for patients that are concerned about their comfort level during treatment.

Dr. Maas carefully places the filler injections to create a smooth, natural shape and contour to the nose. The procedure typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete, unless numbing cream is applied and the time is extended to allow for the cream to take effect. Patients are usually able to return to their regular activities immediately following the procedure.

You can expect to have some minor bruising or swelling after a non-surgical rhinoplasty, particularly around the injection points. Bruising is usually mild enough to be concealed with makeup and will only last for a few days. Patients are able to see results of their treatment immediately following the procedure, which will improve as the nose fully heals. Those results will likely last for many months before any type of touch-up procedure is necessary.

A non-surgical rhinoplasty is not right for everyone and there are actually few patients that actually make good candidates for this procedure. However, if you are one of those candidates, this treatment offers excellent results in nose enhancement without incisions or downtime.
