What is Jeuveau™ and how does it work?

Made of Botulinum Toxin type A, this cosmetic form of the toxin is considered a neuromuscular blocking agent. Intramuscular injections in therapeutic doses, causes the active ingredient in Jeuveau to inhibit the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, resulting in the partial chemical denervation of the targeted muscle. For dynamic lines caused by muscle activity, this decrease in movement smooths out the overlying skin, for a more rejuvenated appearance. As time goes on, reinnervation of the muscle occurs, reversing the effects of Jeuveau and necessitating follow up treatments to maintain its impact on your appearance.

Is Jeuveau™ safe?

Yes! Like the other Botulinum Toxin products, Jeuveau has been extensively tested worldwide. Corey S. Maas MD^TM was one of the investigators in the clinical research trial for Jeuveau, which involved over 2100 patients globally, including two US Phase III trials, and European and Canadian Phase III trials versus the market leader Botox®.

How does Jeuveau™ compare to Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin?
Like the other Botoxins, Jeuveau is measured in units, and one unit of Jeuveau is comparable to a unit of Botox. In our experience, Jeuveau provides a very similar outcome compared to its competitors and works just as well. The subtle differences will come down to a matter of personal preference for most patients, and we are happy to recommend the best product for your individual needs during your in-person consultation with us.

What is the cost of Jeuveau™?
